Word Swap Unlimited is a free word puzzle where six five-letter words cross in a grid and their letters are mixed up. Swap letters to fix every word. A new grid arrives every day at 00:00 UTC, and Unlimited mode never runs out.
Word Swap Unlimited is a free word puzzle for people who like crosswords and letter games. If you enjoy Waffle, this is a free Waffle-style game with unlimited rounds. Six common five-letter words cross in a 5×5 grid: three across and three down, sharing nine squares. Their letters have been scrambled. Tap two letters to swap them, and use the colours to work out where each one belongs. Every puzzle can be solved in 10 swaps, and you have 15. Everyone gets the same daily grid, which changes at 00:00 UTC, and Unlimited mode deals a fresh grid whenever you want one.
How to play
- Tap a letter, then tap another letter to swap them. Each swap uses one of your 15 swaps.
- Green means the letter is in the right place. Green letters are locked.
- Yellow means the word running through that square needs this letter, but in a different place.
- Grey means no word through that square needs this letter anywhere else.
- Fix all six words before you run out of swaps. Every grid can be solved in 10 swaps, which keeps 5 spare.
Tips and strategy
- Start with the corners and the middle square: each belongs to two words, so its colour tells you about both.
- A yellow letter on a corner or crossing square could belong to either word. Check both before you move it.
- Think of the words as a crossword: once a row is almost done, guess the whole word and work backwards.
- Every swap should fix at least one letter. If you can fix two letters with one swap, do that first.
- Stuck? Unlimited mode gives you a new grid straight away, so you can practise as much as you like.

How many swaps do I get?
Fifteen. Every puzzle can be solved in ten swaps, so a perfect game leaves five spare.
When does the daily puzzle change?
Every day at 00:00 UTC. Everyone gets the same grid, and your progress and streak are saved in your browser.
Can I play more than one?
Yes. Switch to Unlimited for a new random grid every round.
