Number Forge
Number Forge is a free daily math puzzle. You get six numbers and a target. Pick two numbers and an operation to merge them into one, and keep going until you make the target exactly. Every puzzle can be solved in three steps. A new puzzle appears every day at 00:00 UTC, the same for every player, and practice mode gives you unlimited extra puzzles. Great for mental arithmetic practice at home or in class.
How to play
- Tap a number, tap +, −, × or ÷, then tap a second number to combine them.
- The result replaces the second number. Results must be whole numbers above zero.
- Make the target number exactly. Par is three steps.
- Use Undo or Restart to try a different route.
Tips and strategy
- Start from the target, not the numbers. Ask which big number is closest and what you would need to add or remove.
- Multiplying a large number by a small one gets you near the target quickly; then fix the difference with + or −.
- Look for factors. If the target is 7 × 48, check whether you can build 48 from the remaining numbers.
- You do not have to use every number. Every puzzle can be solved in three steps, so leftover numbers are normal.
- Division only works when it comes out even. It is most useful for turning a big number into a handy small one.
Questions
Is every puzzle solvable?
Yes. Each target is built from the six numbers in exactly three steps, and the game checks that no shorter solution exists.
Can I use a number twice?
No. When you combine two numbers they merge into one, so each number is used at most once.
Are negative numbers or fractions allowed?
No. Every result must be a whole number above zero, which keeps the puzzle friendly for mental math.
Is this like the Countdown numbers round?
It uses a similar idea, but with a daily target that everyone shares and a guaranteed three-step solution.
When does the daily puzzle change?
Every day at 00:00 UTC. Practice mode gives you as many extra puzzles as you like.
