Daily Minesweeper
Daily Minesweeper is a free, no-guess Minesweeper: every board can be cleared with logic alone. A new board arrives every day at 00:00 UTC, and practice mode gives you unlimited easy, medium and hard boards.
Daily Minesweeper is free, no-guess Minesweeper. Every board is checked by a solver before you see it, so it can always be cleared with logic alone: no 50/50 coin flips at the end. The game opens with a safe area already revealed. Each number tells you how many of its eight neighbors hide a mine. A new board appears every day at 00:00 UTC, the same for every player, and practice mode has unlimited easy, medium and hard boards. Made a mistake? Undo it and keep going; your result shows how many mistakes you made.
How to play
- Tap a square to dig. A number shows how many mines touch that square, including diagonals.
- Long-press, right-click, or turn on Flag mode to mark a square you know is a mine.
- Tap a number whose mines are all flagged to open the rest of its neighbors at once.
- Open every safe square to clear the board. Try for a flawless clear with no mistakes.
Tips and strategy
- Start at the edges of the open area. A 1 with only one hidden neighbor means that neighbor is a mine.
- When a number already has all its mines flagged, every other square around it is safe.
- Look for the 1-2-1 and 1-2-2-1 patterns along a straight edge. In 1-2-1 the mines sit under the two 1s; in 1-2-2-1 they sit under the two 2s.
- Compare neighbors. If a 1 touches two hidden squares and the 2 next to it touches those two plus one more, that extra square is a mine.
- Near the end, count the mines left. If the counter matches the hidden squares in one corner, they are all mines.
Questions
What does "no guessing" mean?
Normal Minesweeper sometimes leaves you with two squares and no way to tell which one is the mine. Every board here is solved by a computer using logic before you get it, so there is always a safe move you can prove.
What happens if I hit a mine?
You can undo the mistake and keep playing. Your result counts mistakes, so a clear with zero mistakes is marked flawless.
How do I flag on a phone?
Long-press a square, or tap the Flag button so that taps place flags.
How big are the boards?
The daily board is 10 by 12 with 20 mines. Practice mode has easy (8 by 10, 12 mines), medium (10 by 12, 20 mines) and hard (12 by 14, 32 mines).
When does the daily board change?
Every day at 00:00 UTC. Your progress, time and streak are saved in your browser.
